Alpha 3 is Hello Neighbor.

Plot

Nicky Roth is in his car traveling to a new neighborhood which is called Mr Peterson’s House until it shows the full size of it.

Gameplay

Go to the backyard and carefully knock over the boxes to get the electromagnet. Pick up a box and go to the front porch. Enter the Neighbor's house and look up. There you will find a switch and a yellow key locked in a box. Jump then throw the box at the switch. Jump then use the electromagnet to obtain the yellow key. Run to your home just in case the Neighbor knows you're there. If you see the Neighbor go back to his house, go into the house again. The Neighbor should be right in front of you. Go upstairs and try to get past the barricades. After succeeding, you go inside the extra door found there. The first right door you see when entering has the other key. This is the annoying part; you have to jump lots of times just to get to the golden apple painting. After a lot of fails (If you did fail.), you knock over the golden apple painting. Magnetize the blue key. Go back out (if you made it) and use the yellow key on the door that is straight or has a yellow lock. Upon entering you will find yourself with the toy rifle. The toy rifle is used for breaking windows or stunning the Neighbor. Go back and use the blue key for the second upstairs. The door has a blue lock. Open it, you find lots of random things that shouldn't be in a locked room. Go into a hole in the room and you will find yourself with a keycard in a cabinet. There is also a flashlight you can take. Unlock all the barricaded doors and get out the right way. There is a window that has a ladder. Break the window and climb on the ladder. After getting up, you will see a hole on the roof. You jump a few times to reach the hole, but it won't work. Look back and try to jump on the tracks. After succeeding, run up and jump before hitting a barrier. You should land in the hole. Explore the room and you'll eventually find the crowbar. Jump off because it is the only way to exit. After breaking the window it should get the Neighbor's attention. Try and get the basement to open with the crowbar and the keycard. Open the door to reveal the ending.

Ending

Nicky is transported to a very bright version of the Neighbor's living room. There are two doors, both locked. Through one door is part of a QR code. Behind the other door, is a shadowy figure. In the corner of the living room, the Neighbor holds his hands to his face and cries. When Nicky goes near him, the game will end with a "HELLONEIGHBORGAME.COM" message as the Alpha 2 intro music plays in the background.

Changes

  • A completely new house used. This house is very similar to the house in Alpha 4 and Act 3.
  • The top parts of the house are useless, unlike Alpha 1.
  • The train tracks are back, but there is no train.
  • The windmill was added.
  • The generator has a new look.
  • Some object looks are now different, such as the crowbar, security camera, ham
  • It is now eternal night.

Trivia

  • Alpha 3 is the only build where it was eternal night, opposite to the eternal day from Alpha 2.
  • The Neighbor is said to be "more annoying" in Alpha 3. It is not known if he goes in Idle Mode that much, but he goes outside more than usual.
  • There are multiple levels in the game files which aren't used in this build.
    • The entirety of the Alpha 2's files can be found here, though most of it is broken, and a lot of cutscenes and meshes don't work or are missing.
      • Its actually possible to explore the entirety of the basement, due to the actor containing the door that ends the alpha and shows the logo being deleted from the files, probably due to it being redundant.
      • The names are Intro_Map for the intro, and Level_1 for the main level.
    • Early versions of Fear Darkness and Fear School can be found in the game files, with Fear Darkness having a small amount able to be explorable, and fear school having some basic test AI, although using the player model.
      • Its possible the name for these levels came from the file names, which were Fear_Darkness and Fear_School, as they were pretty infamous when they were found in the files.
    • The Alpha 1 main menu can STILL be found in the files, though the Alpha 1 house cannot, as with the previous alpha.
    • A completely unused mysterious map called Basement can also be found, which just contains a large bucket and nothing else, but there is one more thing. The level also contains a strange effect, where a strange circle effect will spin on screen, in the files called "teleport". If you move, the effect dissapears, but if you continue to stay still, the fog comes in and it flashes on screen, playing the sound that plays when the neighbor catches you before the level resets.
