The Roth house has changed drastically throughout the different Alpha and Beta versions of Hello Neighbor and other media adaptations.

Hello Neighbor (Pre-Full Game)[]

Player house in devgamm

DevGAMM house

DevGAMM[]

This was the module of the player's house in the DevGAMM animation, it has no textures, and has two floors. It is unknown what is in the rooms or if you can access all of the rooms.

Pre-Alpha[]

Alpha1PlayerHouse

Pre-Alpha house

This served as the inaugural accessible player residence in Hello Neighbor. Comprising two floors, its exterior is adorned with white wooden panels. Inside, two rooms are accessible, while the remainder of the house remains unenterable. The initial room is devoid of furnishings, while the second contains solely a bed, with wallpaper curiously adorning the ceiling

Alpha 1[]

This marks the second player house in Hello Neighbor, a revamped rendition of the Pre-Alpha dwelling, boasting several discernible alterations. The exterior wood hue has transitioned from white to a rich brown/red tone. Shutters now adorn the windows leading to inaccessible spaces, concealing their interiors. A brick chimney stands prominently. Within the bedroom, the ceiling is now lined with a distinct material, while wallpaper adorns the walls exclusively. The bed has been repositioned nearer to the wall, accompanied by the addition of a nightstand. Notably, the nightstand features a functional phone, capable of dialing Mr. Peterson's number to serve as a distraction

  1. Find the place
  2. Unpack stuff
  3. Turn on electricity
  4. Check inside
  5. Move stuff inside
  6. Take a nap

After these actions, the main game begins.

The same Alpha 1 house is also in Alpha 2 except there is no longer anything inside and all the doors and windows are removed, it serves as a background house.

Alpha 1.5/2[]

In Alpha 1.5 and Alpha 2, Nicky Roth's House is distinguished by its yellow exterior paint and brown roof. Spanning two floors, the entryway is marked by a set of white double doors. Inside, the layout comprises a bathroom, a living room, and an unoccupied room. Notably, access to the upper floor is barred by a locked door.

Alpha 3[]

Virtually nothing has changed with Alpha 2, but there are a few minor differences:

Alpha 3 house

  1. The appearance of the windows has changed.
  2. Now the front door is not double.
  3. Instead of a bathroom, there is now a bedroom.
  4. Instead of an empty room, a bathroom.
  5. Now there is no sink in the living room.
  6. A tall cabinet is added to the living room and the rug is removed.
  7. The appearance of the door to the second floor has changed.
  8. Now, this is an ordinary door that cannot be opened.
  9. The hall is now another carpet.

Rooms in the house:

  • Hallway
  • Hall
  • Bathroom
  • Bedroom

Alpha 4[]

Alpha 4 house

Nicky Roth's House undergoes a transformation in Alpha 4, emerging as a petite abode featuring two rooms and an attic. Its exterior is characterized by white board walls, complete with a chimney and antennas. Notably, a telephone is situated on the left side of one wall. Although inaccessible, the house serves as a prominent backdrop.

In subsequent stages, from Beta 1 to Beta 3, the same Alpha 4 house makes appearances. Initially featured in the checklist cutscene, it reappears as a background element, contributing to the ambiance of the environment.

Beta 1 - 3[]

Beta 1, 2 and 3 houses

The walls outside are still built from white wooden boards. The house has several windows through which you can see on the other side of the wall. The entrance to the house is accompanied by an always-open door (In Beta 3, the door can be opened/closed like other doors). Only one floor is available. The house has three rooms available to Nicky Roth:

  • Hall
  • Kitchen
  • Bathroom (up to Beta 3 empty room).

There are new types of furniture (couch, television, wardrobe, tables, mug, kitchen cabinets, etc.). The interior of the building almost has the same internal layout as Nicky Roth's Apartment. The exception is the additional bathroom, the absence and other positions of some furniture. In Beta 3, the house has changed a lot inside: More objects have appeared in the house; A table with a telephone appeared in the hall; The empty room became a bathroom, in which various objects also appeared. In addition, the house received an improvised electrical panel, the role of which was played by a yellow switch.

Hello Neighbor (Full Game)[]

Act 1[]

Nicky's house is a 2-storey house. From the outside, its design is loosely inspired by an American Foursquare house, but the upper floor is smaller and has protruding extentions, including a small square window looking into the master bedroom. On the right, there's a small wooden porch leading to a power box. The main roof is pyramid-shaped and has a TV antenna situated on top, while the upstairs extensions have gabled roofs.

The house is painted cyan, has a red shingled roof, and is trimmed in white, with an overhang above the front door. Much like its neighbors, it is bordered by a rundown picket fence with a dirt pathway leading towards the road, next to which is a heavily slanted streetlight, trashcans and the mailbox.

(INTERIOR DETAILS TO BE ADDED SOON)

Act 2[]

Since this act takes place entirely in Mr. Peterson's house due to the enclosed playing space, the Roth house (and overall map) remain the same from Act 1.

Nicky retreats to his house after escaping the confines of the Peterson house at the end of Act 2.

Act 3[]

In the game's third act, Nicky's house has two different variations; its normal version, and a rundown version.

The rundown version takes place within reality. The Roth's home has fallen into a state of disrepair and has clearly not been inhabited for years. Its white framework has rotted in many places and the wood siding has chipped from wear and tear. Every window is boarded up. A few additional changes were also made, including Nicky's car being parked outside to the left of the house, with only a blue key in the trunk to open the front door with, as it is .

Inside does not look any better; the house is 1994s dusty and cluttered with some of the family's old belongings, such as cabinets, boxes, crates, and wardrobes that section off the staircase. The middle of the living room contains an old couch with a coffee table and picture of Nicky in his youth in front of it. Nearby is an old dresser with a telephone on it which begins ringing as soon as the house is approached at the start.

Nothing else of interest is shown, as the other rooms appear empty. The kitchen, now bearing faded and cracked tiles, has been gutted of its fixtures and only has some boxes, a shelf, and the radiator. The bathroom is unchanged, and the closet under the stairs is empty. There is no furniture whatsoever on the second floor, and as previously mentioned you cannot access it because of furniture blocking the stairs.

The normal version of this house exists in the dream-like scenario of which Act 3 mainly takes place in. Aside from the presence of his car and some boxes surrounding it, the Roth's house returns to its former upkept appearance and usage from Act 1.

The Roth house appears in the animated series, Hello Neighbor: Welcome To Raven Brooks. It generally looks similar to the house in the full game but has some alterations.
