Hello Guest Alpha 1 was the second version of Hello Guest.

About[]

Around six months after the Hello Guest Prototype was found, the first Alpha of Hello Guest was released. Hello Guest Alpha 1 introduced more characters, more cutscenes and an expanded playable area.

Plot[]

The game starts off with two different clickable clipboards, each with a different player you can choose (Beatrix and Quentin). The character you play doesn't affect anything except for minor cutscene differences, player run speed and player jump height. After completing many puzzles, we get the final cutscene. Beatrix/Quentin finds themselves in a different section of the park, and a light flashes on them. Suddenly, a mysterious man grabs them and the alpha ends, revealing the Hello Guest logo.

Trivia[]

  • This was the first time The Man In The Hat and Beatrix were in a Hello Guest version.
  • The Umap "AfterCreditsScene" is well, The last bit of the "Hello Guest" trailer.
  • While present in the files, the Guest having the ability to use the fire extinguisher it not used during gameplay of this version. This was perhaps a remnant of the Hello Guest Alpha 2.
  • A ton of non store available, items can be found by using the Mixer, but most of these lack proper models or textures,
  • The tram inside the funicular station dosen't work in the Main level despite the fact that it does work in the Testmap
  • By looking out of bounds it is discovered that the weather station reveal ending was planned to be in the Alpha but was possibly not included due to time constrains,
  • A bad ending with The Guest repairing the Red tram and destroying the Wall himself was also planned but was also not included for the same reasons,
  • The extended Man in the hat ending was also possibly cut as a last minute decision,
  • the coding for a crane can be found in the files, at difference from the other unused content, the crane was later ReUsed for HN2 Alpha 1 and Alpha 1.5
  • There's an unused extention to the Gas station, which can only be seen by using a ghost hack, it perhaps had been planned to have some of the non Mixer obtainable items, such as sedative pills, double pills, or stressful/economic generators, but it could have been also just a remnant of Alpha 2
  • The Screenshot in HelloGuestGame.com with Quentin in the alphas ending seems to take place in a completly different place to the one that actually appears ingame, alongside that some of the assets from the actual ending cutscene are missing.
