The Peterson house has changed drastically throughout the different versions and games in the Hello Neighbor franchise and other media adaptations.

Hello Neighbor (Early Drafts/Unused Houses)[]

First Render[]

Four-story house with white walls and a brown roof. On the right side is a garage. There are two chimneys on the roof.

DevGAMM[]

A two-story house without textures. On the right side is a garage in front of which is a car. Around the house, there are several trees. In front of the house, there are several boxes or boxes (due to the lack of textures this is not clear), two garbage cans and a mailbox.

Alpha 0.5[]

It looks like a five-story house in blue with a brown roof. Some floors of the house protrude beyond the main part and adhere to beams. To the left of the main entrance is a garage. On the roof, there is a pipe and antenna. In front of the house, there is a mailbox and a trash can.

Early Alpha 1 House[]

It looks similar to the house in Alpha 1, but with some difference such as the absence of rails.

Giant House[]

It is a huge fourteen-story house with a slimmer and more cartoonish look when compared to the final house. Despite this, there are some similarities to the final house such as the appearance of rails and hanging structures.

The concept piece below was used as a basis for the final house introduced in Alpha 3.

Neighbor_3[]

Though possibly a very early version of the final house introduced in Alpha 3, the Neighbor_3 test house served as an area for the developers to test features of the game. The house itself is very large and contains a plethora of rooms, some of which are furnished.

Hello Neighbor (Pre-Full Game)[]

Prototype[]

Static-assets-upload15021975370102714791

Prototype house

The Prototype version of Mr. Peterson's house can be seen only in the Hello Neighbor Announcement Trailer. The house was shown to have three floors, but there was no way to access any other floors, as it was most likely unfinished. The exterior walls are made of large wooden planks painted blue and the foundations are made of stones. The first floor had only four or five accessible rooms. Behind the house is a pile of objects, similar to that of Pre-Alpha. It appeared that there was no puzzle in this version of Mr. Peterson's house because the key to the basement was on a table in the kitchen and the hammer was in the storage room. The basement was probably unfinished and/or not a playable section.

An earlier version of this house was used in the Early Prototype. It had the same first floor layout as the house seen in the Announcement Trailer.

Pre-Alpha[]

Hez

Pre-Alpha house

The Pre-Alpha version of Mr. Peterson's house includes five floors (only the first is accessible). The walls are made of blue painted wooden planks and the foundations are made of red bricks. The house has several balconies, one garage, a porch and back entrance. In front of the garage there is Mr. Peterson's car with the headlights on. The whole house is surrounded by a low white painted wooden fence. Behind the house is a pile of furniture that the Neighbor doesn't seem to need. Trash cans are located opposite the entrance to the house in front of the fence. Only one floor is explorable, with the staircase being blocked off with a wardrobe, cabinet, and couch. The basement is only a small room beneath the staircase. There was no train or second floor implemented at the time. There were no invisible boundaries on the roof and you could walk on it freely if you managed to build on it. The house is much smaller than the Alpha 1 house.

Alpha 1[]

Helloneighborenhancededhouse

Alpha 1 house

In Alpha 1, Mr. Peterson's House is slightly larger and much more colourful than before. It has two accessible floors, a train circling outside, and several rooms. There are now several invisible boundaries on parts of the outside of the house and one between the third floor and furniture blocking the staircase. The basement does not have a visible room, but it comes with an ending now. The second story has a Sharkotron guarding a pool of water leading to the second floor. Some rooms and features from Pre-Alpha have been removed such as the green glowing wall on one of the balconies on the roof and the upsidedown room. There are also a few puzzles on the second floor.

Alpha 2[]

Yhff

Alpha 2 house

Mr. Peterson's House in Alpha 2 pales in comparison to the previous two builds in terms of size and complexity. It has 2 floors and 8 rooms, 3 of which are on the second floor which can only be entered by turning off the trapdoor or by getting on the roof and breaking the window leading into the room with the crow (attic). You can now enter the basement by obtaining a crowbar for the board and a keycard. However, when entering, you will soon be greeted with an ending link to their website when trying to enter the first hall. There is a closet near his bedroom with a red lock, which is on the Neighbor's belt. It leads to a room with a hospital bed to hide behind, and a crowbar and lockpick. The lockpick can be used to open the outdoor shed, which contains a gun and wrench. Upstairs, you can find many boxes and fireworks, along with a crow that will call for the Neighbor when it notices you. The room boarded by a single wooden plank contains the alphabet and crib from Alpha 1 and a table with the keycard. His kitchen is quite ordinary, along with his bathroom. The living room contains the basement door, which is to the very right of the house. The bedroom has a high bed and a furnace that you currently cannot open. When you are first "moving" into the Neighbor's house, the hallway straight from the front is blocked off with items, and it's just an empty brick closet where the actual basement should be.

The floorplan of this house was reused for Act 1 in the full game, with the only major difference being the second floor landing getting enlarged.

Alpha 3[]

Hgfhdue

Alpha 3 house

Alpha 3 introduced a completely new house that was much larger and far more unusual-looking. It stood at somewhere around 8 stories tall, but gameplay was confined to the first 3. There are many puzzles, and the second floor onward is a labyrinth. It has an inactive tram network, multiple cantilevers, a larger porch and the edition of a bay window. It also introduces a broken elevator in which you have to climb the rail that a shaft would be connected to. The house also has a massive chimney, a large wooden container hanging off the right-hand side of the building, a large white cloth covering one uncomplete section, and a windmill.

This is the first in-game design of a house which would be featured in the final build of Hello Neighbor.

Alpha 4 - Beta 2[]

Dhfbd

Alpha 4 - Beta 2 house

In Alpha 4 - in the last Alpha version of the game - the Neighbor's house reused its Alpha 3 basis, but it grew by an extra floor and obtained some other major changes. Its upper levels are reinforced with thin wooden beams for reliability. Boards have different colors. Also, by climbing into the hanging container, there is an door inside closed by an orange lock. After opening it, the player will fall into the Fear Darkness level.

Almost the whole of Mr. Peterson's House consists of cubes, and therefore you can notice many unnatural moments near the house: Wallpaper of the house is visible from the outside, the roof tiles are directed at an unnatural angle, the textures look very not organically (Many of them are stretched, compressed, etc.).

Rails come out of different places of the house, and also a large windmill is visible above. Nearby is Mr. Peterson's Car, parked on top of the fence and with the headlights on. Opposite the house in front of the fence are trash bins with garbage bags.

Beta 3[]

Dhfjhg

Beta 3 house

Beta 3 once again uses the same house from Alpha 4 - Beta 2, but the developers have cleaned up and elaborated on it (most textures are not rotated, squashed, stretched, etc.). Many rooms also look different. The house now stands at 9 floors tall, with a garden added to the same roof as the windmill, meaning players now had to use a record player to access it.

Hello Neighbor (Full Game)[]

Act 1[]

Act12rss

Act 1 house

Mr. Peterson's House in Act 1 is the smallest in the full game. It has only two floors and nine rooms. Mr. Peterson's House in Act 1 is made of blue wooden boards, white wooden trimming, and brown roof tiles. The house has a lift on the left side and a unique red window, which differs from other windows only in color. The roof has a large hole leading into the children room. The house also has a false wall that can be opened by using a yellow switch. The house has a backyard ladder leading to the roof.

Near the bedroom is a small accumulation of objects, consisting of a chest of drawers, a bedside table, and huge shelving.

910 Friendly Court consisted of two floors for most of its existence. The downstairs was comprised of a long hall, living room, In a later patch of the game, a satellite dish was added to the left side of Mr. Peterson's House so that players could not glitch themselves over to the children room. This didn't work, however, and players still made it over.

Act 2[]

Hjsfhfghfdt

Act 2 house

Unlike Act 1, Mr. Peterson's House in Act 2 became two floors larger and received more rooms. Pipes are located throughout the house, which is not very natural. A very high fence appeared with barbed wire at the top so that Nicky Roth (the protagonist) cannot climb over it to get to his home. The house, unlike Act 1, is made not only of blue boards and white wood but also of yellow, red and burgundy boards. The house acquired another ladder, which is in place of the accumulation of objects from Act 1. A Sharkotron patrols the flooded room and guards the shovel.

A lot of locked doors appeared in Mr. Peterson's House (some of them were simply propped by chairs). Also, more boarded up windows appeared initially.

Act 3[]

Act3houseMC

Act 3 house

In Act 3, Mr. Peterson's House is the same as the Beta 3 house, with minor differences. It has six floors, and each floor has different rooms. On the first floor, you can find one Fear level, Fear School. On the third floor you can find another, Fear Supermarket, and you can find Fear Darkness in the hanging structure beside the house. In Act 3, Mr. Peterson's House has a lot of puzzles and many strange and abnormal features. These strange and abnormal features include trees that grow inside the house, a pool of water that can be frozen, a big magnetic coil and a railway system with a train built into the house.

Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek[]

Hie&SeekHouse23

Hide & Seek house

Mr. Peterson's House is the main location where the events of Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek take place. In the imagination of Aaron Peterson and Mya Peterson, the house looks different (for example, like a savannah). Mr. Peterson's House in this game reuses the Act 1 house, with a couple of changes such as being more sparsely furnished and the front door having a red paintjob instead of a white one.

Secret Neighbor[]

SecretNeighborHouse

Secret Neighbor house

Mr. Peterson's House in Secret Neighbor is very large. It has five floors and twenty one rooms (not including the basement and several closets). The house has several balconies. The whole house is surrounded by a high fence.

Alterations were made to Mr. Peterson's House with each version of Secret Neighbor:

In the Pre-Alpha version, there were completely different wallpapers that are no longer present in the game, and a lot more windows;

In the Halloween Alpha, the house was decorated for Halloween (wallpapers changed, pumpkins appeared);

In the Christmas Alpha, the house was decorated for the new year (wallpapers changed, a Christmas tree appeared in the hall, etc.);

In the Easter Alpha, the usual wallpapers for the house reappeared, and all festive decorations added in the Christmas Alpha were removed;

In Beta, many windows of the house were removed.

In the release of Secret Neighbor, Mr. Peterson's House was greatly transformed: The house received additional decorative windows; The passage to the roof became more difficult to access (instead of the rack, "bridges" made from wooden boards appeared); A high tower appeared and much more. The fence around the house became made of stone.

In the Christmas update of the release, major changes were made to the house: The hole in the dressing room was boarded up with boards; The tower fell from the roof and blocks a passage from the right side of the house; Two attic windows were boarded up with boards; The house received Christmas decorations (wallpapers, garlands, Christmas trees, etc.); Changed the location of one of the grilles; One part of the roof is blocked by a grill and much more.

Because of a visual revamp in the Halloween Update for October 2023, the house will begin using several models and textures from Hello Neighbor 2.

Hello Neighbor: Welcome To Raven Brooks[]

TVShowHouse

TV Show house

The exterior of Mr. Peterson's House in the TV Show is very similar to the Act 1 house from the full game, but it has some differences:

  • There is a back entrance.
  • The porch is slightly different.
  • The window on the left side has become much smaller.
  • The basement is not so deep and has a window.

Since this is not a game, you cannot inspect the house yourself. At the moment, the following rooms can be distinguished:

Hello Neighbor 2 (Pre-Full Game)[]

Alpha 1[]

Hn2a1House

HN2 Alpha 1 house

The exterior of Mr. Peterson's House resembles the Act 1 House, but the layout is completely different. The entrance leads to a hallway that somewhat resembles a living room, complete with 3 chairs, a sofa, and a tv. To your left is a kitchen, with a fridge, a stove, and a few other appliances. The living room hallway leads to a conveyor belt, clipboards of Quentin and Beatrix, a shower, and a pile of junk. Upstairs starts with a hallway. It leads to a boarded off room that goes back to the first floor. (Crowbar Required) It also contains a keypad room with a crowbar. To get the code, activate security cameras and watch the guest input the code. This hallway also leads to the furnace room which has the key. The door in there leads to a hallway yet again with a gate. The gate leads to yet another hallway that leads to the starting hallway. This hallway also leads to a room with a hiding place, incinerator, and a locker. There is also an attic now.

Alpha 1.5[]

Hn2a1 5House

HN2 Alpha 1.5 house

In alpha 1.5, the exterior is the same as alpha 1, but now with a longer extension at the back, a chimney, some pipes, and a conveyor belt. The layout is somewhat different. On the first floor, the kitchen and living room are in the same spot. However, there is a tool room to the right where the Guest uses his Angle Grinder to work on a trumpet gun. On the second floor, The layout has completely changed. You walk up to a big room and to your left is a conveyor room, blocked off by a gate. There is also the furnace room, also to the left but closer to the front of the house. There is a keypad room where it is in alpha 1, and a conveyor belt behind the staircase.
