The Wardrobe is an important object in the Hello Neighbor series.

Description[]

The wardrobe is a standing closet with a large space for storing clothes. The wardrobe has a door or doors, which prevents you from seeing items that may be located inside. The wardrobe itself is held on small legs or wheels.

In Hello Neighbor, the wardrobe is necessary in order to hide from Mr. Peterson. If Nicky Roth hides in a wardrobe while being chased, then there is a good chance Mr. Peterson will lose sight of you and stop looking. That, however, will not work if he is in close proximity of you. Hiding can help a lot in the game.

Mr. Peterson can look in any wardrobe to make sure that you are not hidden inside. He does this only when he saw for himself that you hid in a wardrobe (this only works in new versions).

In Alpha 2, the wardrobe underwent appearance changes and became cartoonish. Now the wardrobe has become crooked, it has two doors of different sizes, with different handles. The hinges also differ: one door is held at the expense of some hinges, and the other at the expense of others. The wardrobe itself has a brown-red base.

In Alpha 2, the wardrobes had four coloring options:

  • With a red base, with the left yellow door and with the right red door;
  • With a white base, with the left red door and with the right yellow door;
  • With a red base, with the left yellow door and with the right blue door;
  • With a blue base, with a left white door and with a right red door;

In Alpha 4, a new large wardrobe was added. Unlike current wardrobes, it is completely useless, because you can’t hide in it. It has a yellow-orange color of the door, and the base itself has become a simple brown color. Alpha 4 also added a new coloring option for the current wardrobe: With a brown base, with a left white door and with a right yellow door. In the full game, all the alternative coloring options for the wardrobes were removed, and only one coloring option was left for each wardrobe. However, a new base color for the current wardrobe has appeared: Orange. Later, in Version 1.2, the model of the new wardrobe was finalized by adding black rectangular handles to it.

In Secret Neighbor there are only current wardrobes, but they have acquired changes: The wardrobe doors began to close tightly. In later versions of the game, keyholes were added to the wardrobes so that players could watch what was going on outside and inside the wardrobe.

In Hello Neighbor 2 the wardrobe looks different. It is mainly painted red and one door is painted blue.

In Hello Neighbor 2 full game, the wardrobe has a yellow variant and a yellow and green variant

History[]

Hello Neighbor[]

For the first time in the game, wardrobes appeared in Pre-Alpha. They also exist in other versions of the game. In Pre-Alpha, when interacting with wardrobes, both doors will open simultaneously. In Alpha 1 you have to open first one wardrobe door, then another. in Alpha 2 and onwards, when you press a wardrobe with the E key, both doors will open and the player will automatically climb into it. Alpha 4 added new wardrobes that you can’t hide in.

Secret Neighbor[]

In Secret Neighbor, the current wardrobes have been slightly changed: the doors began to close very tightly, which made it difficult for the player standing inside the wardrobe to see what was happening outside, but there are pluses: Theodore Peterson standing outside the wardrobe does not see the child inside. In version 0.8.15, a keyhole appeared on one of the wardrobe doors, which makes it possible to look into the wardrobe without opening it.

Location[]

Mr. Peterson's House has a lot of wardrobes. They can be found several times in the corridor, the object can be found in the Neighbor's bedroom, in the hall and other rooms. Wardrobes are present on almost every floor in the house and where the Neighbor is often. Finding a wardrobe will not be a problem.

Bugs & Problems[]

  • You can hide in a wardrobe even during the chase from the Neighbor, that is, even if the Neighbor saw you run into a closet (In Alpha 3, this bug was fixed).
  • Starting with Alpha 2, you can make the doors with a trap open at the wardrobe: You need to get into the trap, and then press the "E" key on the doors.
  • Sometimes if he sees you go in a wardrobe, he will catch you through the wardrobe without opening the doors.
  • If you run out when he opens it, he will still catch you, but he will point at the wardrobe and not you.
  • In Hello Neighbor 2 beta and full game, if you jump then interact with the wardrobe before you land will result in you in the wardrobe while stuck in the jump animation
